LOADING ARMS
Api Couplers
As a leading API coupling manufacturer and a producer of high-quality loading arm systems and accessories, Excel Loading Systems offers top-of-the-line API couplers for bottom-loading arm applications. Our API couplers have been used in many industries including petrochemical and petroleum.
Excel Loading’s CLICK and SNAP-ON API couplings are designed with ease of maintenance and safety for load transports. They are manufactured with an aluminum anodized hard coat handle, and stainless-steel hardware to withstand the harshest conditions. In addition, they are manufactured and tested to the American Petroleum Institute standard API RP-1004.
API RP-1004 guides API coupling manufacturers as to the uniformity that should be present, specifically regarding loading tank vehicles with a standard 4-inch adaptor. The purpose of this standard is to ensure the commonality of connection profiles, meaning that even if API Couplers are from different manufacturers they should be interchangeable in their application.

Types of Api Couplings
API Couplings play an instrumental role in the safe and efficient transferring of both toxic and non-toxic materials. We offer two different API couplings to ensure that our clients can obtain the product the best fits their needs, minimizing risk.Api Bottom Loading Coupler
Api Bottom Loading Coupler
Click Api Coupler – America’s Coupler
CLICK is the new standard for API bottom loading arm couplers for liquid terminals. Made in the USA, the CLICK coupler is precision machined for longevity. Features a stainless-steel collar design to endure extreme and rugged use. CLICK Coupler is designed to be the last API Coupler you will ever need.
The CLICK Coupler is designed for when a dry coupling is required for top or bottom loading arm applications. This API bottom loading coupler allows the final connection of the loading operation to be leak-free while maintaining safe conditions for operators. The quality and components of this design are created for a wide range of industries, including petrochemical, and is manufactured according to the API RP 1004 standard regulations.

Series 513 Api Coupler for Filling & Unloading
The Excel Loading series 513 semi-automatic coupler is used in the petrochemical industry when a dry coupling is required. It is mainly used to connect a bottom loading arm or a hose to a tanker equipped with a bottom loading adapter manufactured according to API RP 1004 standard regulations. The Excel Loading 513 coupler allows the final connection of the loading operation to be leak free and totally safe conditions for operators.
How Api Couplers Work
Pressing the coupler to the adapter, the 5 locking lugs of the coupler automatically hook to the adaptor and the outer ring moves front-ward fixing its position. The operator has to turn the lever counter clockwise to start the delivery.
There is double security:
- 1. The flow can be started only when the coupler is hooked
- 2. It’s not possible to disconnect the coupler when the lever is in the open position.
To terminate the delivery, rotate the lever clockwise and to disconnect the coupler by pulling the release handle.

Rail Car Fall Protection Solutions
Rail cars come in all shapes and sizes. You need flexibility with your railcar loading solution which accommodates every configuration possible. Also, you need a rail car fall protection solution that not only efficiently loads railcars, but also protects workers.
An important note on railcar fall protection
While it is very common in this industry to use a 12″ cage to augment the existing crash box and satisfy the OSHA 42″ handrail requirement, we recommend not stopping there. The abbreviated cage does not satisfactorily protect the worker from gaps underneath the railing, thus exposing workers to danger. Please give us a call to discuss how to keep your workers safer as they go about their railcar operations.
